The all-new Aquabot Rapids 2000 cleans your pool floor, walls, and waterline. With an included caddy and remote control, cleaning has never been easier.
The Aquabot Rapids 2500 robotic pool cleaner paves the way with waterline cleaning, remote control, and caddy. Clean like never before.
Designed for use in fountains, wading pools, and reflection pools, with the capability to function in water as shallow as 8 inches
Deep pools aren't just bigger — they're harder to clean. Steep slopes, deep ends where debris settles, and higher demands on climbing and suction. This is where weaker robots completely fall apart.
When your pool exceeds 8 ft in the deep end, gravity becomes the enemy. Debris — dirt, sand, leaves — settles at the lowest point and stays there. A robot with weak suction will glide over settled debris without picking it up. And the steep transition from shallow to deep end creates slopes that cheaper robots slide down or refuse to climb entirely.
Wall climbing in a deep pool is a different challenge than in a standard 5–6 ft pool. The robot needs to grip steep walls, transition from floor to wall on angled slopes, and maintain traction all the way to the waterline. Track-based robots with aggressive brushes — like the HyperBrush on Dolphin models — outperform wheel-based robots in deep pools every time. At minimum, you need a Dolphin Cayman, but ideally a Quantum or above.
Debris at the bottom of an 8–10 ft deep end experiences more water pressure pushing it down. Budget robots with weak motors can't generate enough suction to pick up settled sand and dirt at those depths. Commercial-grade motors on ProLine™ robots deliver the sustained suction needed to lift debris from the deepest points of your pool.
Just because your pool is deep doesn't mean the waterline stays clean. Oils, minerals, and scum build up along the waterline in every pool. A robot that only cleans the floor and walls leaves the dirtiest, most visible part of your pool untouched. Full vertical coverage — floor, walls, and waterline — is essential regardless of depth.
Steep slopes confuse random-navigation robots. They lose orientation, miss sections, or get stuck on the transition between the shallow and deep ends. SmartNav 2.0 and 3.0 account for your pool's contours and depth transitions, cleaning in planned passes that cover every surface without getting confused by angles.
Beyond the power advantage, corded robots are dramatically easier to retrieve from deep pools. Pull the cord and the robot surfaces. Cordless robots sitting at the bottom of a 10 ft deep end? You're reaching in with a pole or diving down to grab it. Corded power also means the robot never loses suction as the "battery" drains — consistent power from start to finish.
If your pool is also 40+ ft long, depth and distance compound the challenge — you'll want a ProLine™ robot with a 60 ft cable, NanoFiltration™, and commercial-grade motors to handle both.
Deep pools demand more from a robot — stronger climbing, better grip, and suction that can lift debris from 8–10 ft below the surface. These models deliver where cheaper robots fail.
The Cayman is the entry point for deep pool owners who need real wall climbing at a reasonable price. With a HyperBrush for aggressive grip, SmartNav 2.0 navigation, and wall climbing capabilities, it handles the steep slopes in deep pools without sliding or losing traction.
A programmable weekly timer automates your cleaning schedule, and the easy-clean filter basket makes maintenance effortless. For deep pools without heavy debris, the Cayman delivers the essential performance at under $800.
Shop Dolphin CaymanFor deep pools that also deal with heavy debris — leaves, twigs, sand — the Premier is the answer. Dual commercial-grade motors provide the suction strength to lift settled debris from the deepest points, and the exclusive Multi-Media™ filtration handles everything from microscopic particles to large leaves.
The 60 ft anti-tangle swivel cable makes retrieval from deep water simple — just pull and the robot surfaces. A 3-year warranty covers your investment.

The Quantum is our top recommendation for deep pool owners. Dual commercial-grade motors power it through the demanding climb from an 8+ ft deep end to the waterline. NanoFiltration™ captures the fine particles that settle at the bottom of deep pools, and the XXL MaxBin™ holds enough debris to finish the entire cycle without clogging.
SmartNav 2.0 handles the contour changes between shallow and deep ends intelligently, and the 60 ft anti-tangle cable gives you reach and easy retrieval.
Shop Dolphin QuantumDeep pools create three compounding problems that cheap robots can't solve.
More pressure. Water pressure at 8–10 ft pushes debris into the pool surface, making it harder to lift. Budget motors can't overcome the resistance. More debris concentration. Gravity pulls everything to the deep end floor, creating concentrated debris zones that overwhelm small filters. More demanding cleaning paths. The transition from shallow to deep end creates steep slopes that require real climbing ability — not the gentle wall-following that works in shallow pools.
ProLine™ robots are built on a commercial platform specifically to handle these challenges.
Explore ProLine™ Robots
All corded Dolphin robotic pool cleaners can clean pools with deep ends of 8–10 ft without issue. The key isn't just reaching the bottom — it's having the suction power to lift debris from that depth and the climbing ability to scale the walls back to the waterline. Models like the Dolphin Quantum and Premier are built for this.
Yes, but not all of them. Robots with track-based movement and aggressive brush systems (like Dolphin's HyperBrush) handle steep slope transitions much better than wheel-based robots. SmartNav navigation also helps — it accounts for slope angles so the robot doesn't get confused or stuck on transitions between the shallow and deep ends.
Gravity. Debris sinks to the lowest point of your pool and stays there. The deeper your pool, the more concentrated the debris becomes in the deep end. This is why you need a robot with strong suction and a large filter capacity — it has to handle a concentrated debris load, not just a light dusting across the entire floor.
We strongly advise against it. Cordless robots are harder to retrieve from deep pools (no cord to pull), they deliver weaker suction under battery power, and they typically can't maintain climbing ability on tall walls. Corded robots like the Dolphin Cayman and above are a significantly better choice for deep pools.
The Dolphin Cayman is the entry-level model we recommend for deep pools. It has real wall climbing with a HyperBrush, SmartNav 2.0 for intelligent navigation, and enough suction to handle moderate debris at depth. If your pool also has heavy debris or you want waterline cleaning, step up to the Quantum or Premier.
With a corded robot, simply pull the cable and the robot surfaces. Let the water drain from the unit for a few seconds before lifting it out. The Dolphin Premier and Sigma both include 60–70 ft anti-tangle swivel cables, making retrieval smooth and easy regardless of depth.
Clean and reach the dirtiest part of your swimming pool. Found on only the top models, this is a feature you'll need if you are an inground pool owner.
Wall climbing is partial wall cleaning. These models do not clean the waterline, but still have excellent cleaning ability.
Schedule your robot to automatically clean every day, two days, or three days.
With a no-tangle swivel, the robot can travel freely throughout your pool without knotted cords.
The larger and easier to clean MaxBin™ is a 2nd gen update to the standard filters. Cleaning a pool robot filter has never been easier.
