Why won't my Dolphin robot start when the power supply works?
Short answer: Inspect the blue cable, restart the power supply using a different outlet, and check the impeller and tracks for blockages.
Unplug the black cable, disconnect and inspect the blue cable, then plug the power supply into a different outlet. Reconnect the blue cable and try starting the robot.

The fix
Step by step.
Use these steps if your corded Dolphin robot will not start cleaning after you turn it on. They also apply if the main LED on an IoT Power Supply is red.
If the power supply itself will not turn on, follow the power supply troubleshooting guide instead.
The Maytronics self-service tool also offers troubleshooting and lets you submit a warranty claim for a repair or power supply.
Step 1Restart the power supply
- Remove the black power cable from the electrical outlet.
- Detach the blue cable from the power supply. Look along the cable for cuts or other damage.
- Plug the power supply into another outlet to check whether the original outlet is causing the problem.
- Reconnect the blue cable to the power supply, then try turning the unit on again.
Step 2Check the impeller
Unplug the power supply and disconnect the blue cable before inspecting the impeller or tracks.
- Look for debris caught in the impeller.
- If debris is trapped inside, open the impeller area for cleaning. For safety, use a Phillips screwdriver, never a power drill.
- Clear out the debris, then reassemble the impeller.
See the impeller cleaning guide for detailed instructions.
Step 3Check the tracks
- With the power still disconnected, turn the robot upside down.
- Rotate the brushes by hand and listen for unusual noises.
- If you hear anything unusual, inspect more closely. Look over the tracks, brushes, and surrounding spaces for obstructions or visible damage.
Follow the track cleaning instructions to clear trapped debris.
