The answer
What to know.
Basket filters

Super Filtration combines a multilayer ultra-fine filter with a pre-filter for filtration at 30 microns.
Cartridge filters

Your Dolphin arrives with fine (mesh) filters already installed. These catch larger debris, including leaves, grass, and twigs. Use them for the season's first cleaning cycle.

Depending on the model, your robot may also include pleated ultra-fine filters made of corrugated paper. These ultra-fine filters capture small debris up to 50 microns, including dirt, sand, and algae.

Some models have an extra spring filter that fits into the ultra-fine filter basket to provide super filtration at 30 microns. Review the filter kit details and model compatibility.
Check your robot's user manual to confirm which filters are included.
When to switch filters
After completing one cycle with the fine filters, switch to the ultra-fine filters if your model includes them.
Starting with ultra-fine filters can cause them to clog sooner, depending on how much debris is in the pool. You may need to clean them a few times during that first cycle.
How to change the filter panels

If you have a different filter type, follow the installation directions in your robot's user manual.
