I must say, I am a first time pool owner. I have worked for a pool company for 14 years now and have always wanted a pool, so I finally took the plunge and installed an inground fiberglass pool with Hayward equipment and salt system. I have heard customers talk about the Dolphin products, the different models and which is the best for the best price. So I had to do some investigating myself. I looked at tons of reviews on this model as well as other Dolphin models and for what this machine does and the price compared to others, I always came back to this one and I took a chance on this one and so far I can say I am extremely pleased! I just received it and my pool is a new install. Even after being cleaned, there was still some fine red mud dust and concrete partials that just stayed on the bottom of the pool unless I stirred them up. I also had leaves from nearby trees that started to fall and I was always scooping. So I knew even tho we wouldn't get a swim season in, I had to go ahead and buy one. I ran just one cycle last night and boy what a difference. In two hours it got everything cleaned. As as you can see from the pictures, my pool has steps in the shallow and deep end as well as a safety lip around it. And what now is called "Flipper" didn't have one problem with climbing the steps or suction around the lip and zoomed right on down it and got everything. I was extremely happy and impressed. I look forward to having this as a must have for being a pool owner. Shipping was fast, nothing was damaged and it was packaged very well. The quick start guide was great and did just that, I was anxious to get started and I followed the steps and within 2 hours...A clean pool! I may just go home and run it for another cycle and sit and watch it :) I think any pool owner if you are gonna invest into anything for your pool, You must have a Robot cleaner! I look forward to seeing what this little baby will do in a full swim season. I will also edit and add to this review as I use it more.
I replaced my Dolphin Echo with this Nautilus model, also from Maytronics. Even though it is advertised as not being designed to clean the waterline of my pool, it does so consistently and very well. After one month of regular use, I am impressed with its functionality and power. Its "footprint" on the pool surface as it passes below is much more pronounced than my older Echo. Two hours is sufficient for it to completely clean my 15' x 30' pool, including swim-outs, stairs, sidewalls, and waterline. Since it has a swivel in its powerline, the line never gets kinked and is therefore easy to manage for storage. Cleaning the two baskets is very quick and easy. For me, this unit is ideal since I really have no need at all for wi-fi connectivity or remote control in order to manage my pool crawler. Great performance for the price without paying for unnecessary frills. Good value!
We have owned the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus Robotic Pool Vacuum Cleaner since April 2019 (review is Jun 2023) on the assumption the product will keep our costs down and our pool clean, so this 3-year review is intended to help others hesitant to commit to this or similar products. We run it 3-5 days per week, and while it isn't perfect by any means, it is so effective that we can skip pool filter back-washes. I check the pressure on the filter system every month, and there is no historical evidence of an overworked filter system. The company I hired for a pool pump replacement (2 years ago) frequently tries to get me to change my filtration system with scare tactics 'the PSI is too high,' even though when the VSP pump is running at near-max RPM, my PSI is no higher than 10-15. In four years of ownership, I replaced the power and communications cord, the belt, and the climbing rings once, and the system continues to operate flawlessly. I clean the robot's filters every two weeks. This tool is so effective a pool guy tried to convince me not to use it because he knew I would eventually not need his services once I figured out proper pool maintenance cycles, which turned out to be true. The only thing I'd change about this is getting an IoT version that can map the pool using machine learning/training. This product has more than paid for itself in the 1st year of ownership alone.
Needed a good cleaner for our gunite pool. Had no idea how easily gunite stains. Pool cleaners that work well on liner pools do not perform the same on gunite. I tried to get away with the cheaper cleaners and it honestly just made me an unhappy person. I bit the bullet and splurged with the highest of hopes for this cleaner. At first, I was a little disappointed, it was getting stuck on the pool steps and would flip on its side laying helpless. Hopes deflated. But I remembered a review that said the stairs were only an issue at first! Hope restored! The next day, no issues with the stairs! The little genius learned how to navigate them!! This cleaner has officially exceeded my expectations! It’s worked off stubborn leaf stains, cleaned up every piece of debris and covered every inch of the pool! Wven the tile is clean! The price tag was worth it to me. I’m now such a happy, at peace pool owner!!
I am impressed. I'm pretty good at scooping out bugs, grass, and leaves manually, but I'm constantly wasting water vacuuming to waste or adding expensive clarifier to try and get the fine stuff. You know what I mean. You balance the water, you add expensive chemicals, you run the pump all day, and you still have that brown dust on the bottom of the pool. I also get lots of sand blown in from my concrete pool deck. The only thing that works is flocculent and then you waste water, chemicals, and maybe salt vacuuming to waste. If you're wondering, I bought the fine filters and the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus Robotic Pool Vacuum Cleaner. I let in run in the pool for two hours (while I stayed inside with the air conditioning) and checked the filters. All of the fine brown silt, tiny little bugs, sand and grass were inside of the filters and out of the pool. Oh, and by the way, it did clean the waterline. It would climb all of the way up the sides and then kind of scoot sideways along the waterline. Buy the caddy for it if you can. It's pretty heavy out of the water to carry from the pool back to wherever you store it.
