Niya · Troubleshooting guide

Niya Sonar Ray troubleshooting.

Check your Niya Sonar Ray's charge first if it will not start or ends a run early. For debris pickup or parking concerns, use the checks below or ask Poolbots' pool experts by live chat or phone. Every fix below is rewritten in plain English and sorted by what the robot is doing wrong, with the genuine part that fixes it.

Quick checks

The Niya Sonar Ray problems we hear about most.

Robot will not startCheck the battery charge before trying another run. If it still will not start, ask Poolbots' pool experts for help.
Dirt remains on the floorTurn the robot off and check the top-access filter basket for collected dirt and debris.
Robot stops near the pool wallCheck whether the cycle ended or the battery is low. Parking near the pool edge is normal in either case.
Walls or waterline remain dirtyThis is a floor-only cleaner. It is not designed to clean pool walls or scrub the waterline.

Start here

Three checks before you suspect the robot.

Charge, filter, impeller, tracks: in that order.

  1. Charge fully with the Niya charger

Use the charger supplied with the robot and charge indoors, out of direct sun.

  2. Clean the filter and impeller

Rinse the filter after each cycle and check the impeller grill for hair and debris.

  3. Check the tracks or wheels

Remove anything caught in the tracks; worn tracks are a cheap replacement part.
