The answer
What to know.
Step 1Test the water
- Choose a reliable pool test kit that uses test strips or liquid reagents.
- Take a water sample from elbow depth.
- Measure the pH according to your test kit's directions.
Step 2: Raise the pH if it is too low\n The ideal pH range is 7.2–7.6 for pools and 7.2–7.8 for spas. If your reading is below the appropriate range:
- Work out how much pH Up you need based on your pool or spa size.
- Keep the pump running as you distribute the pH Up evenly across the pool or spa.
- Wait a few hours, then test the water again. Adjust the pH if needed.
Safety when using pH Plus
- Wear protective gloves and goggles every time you use it.
- Carefully follow the product manufacturer's directions.
- Add the chemical gradually to avoid raising the pH above the desired range.
